The individuals associated with [acid] were tired with not having a local center on the internet through which we could quickly search for unix information and techniques. So we made one.
Unixref aims to be two things:
A solid, searchable unix reference site.
A home to usable examples of command usage.
Need to reference a unix command? Visit unixref.
Want to see how you can use the command line to compress and archive files older than 10 days?
Visit unixref.
Want to comment on photos of a stranger's cat?
You're in the wrong place partner.
So, as you may be aware, Unix isn't exactly a short subject. Between all of the commands, applications, tricks, and pitfalls, there's really quite a lot of content. Unixref.com is always looking for content publishers (anyone who's willing to provide unix/linux content).
Any old guides or help files are very welcome and we'd be happy to give the original author full credit. Other than some editorial work and some reformatting to fit it all into the look-and-feel of unixref, we prefer to leave article content as to close to what our publishers provide as possible.
Submit that content to the address below and immortalize yourself on the web!
With that said, welcome to the site. Feel free to contact us with suggestions.
